Production reports by large ownership groups

As per Broadcasting Information Bulletin CRTC 2019-304, the large English- and French-language ownership groups are now required to file a production report that replaces the programs of national interest reports starting in the 2018-2019 broadcast year. Also, several television stations that receive a set wholesale rate and mandatory distribution on the basic service under section 9(1)(h) of the Broadcasting Act are required to file similar production reports.

The reports will provide detailed information on an individual program basis for broadcasters’ spending on Canadian programming expenditures including identification of those programs which are original, first-run programming as well as those produced by official language minority communities and Indigenous producers. It will also include information that will allow interested parties to measure the efforts of broadcasters concerning commissioning programming made by women occupying the roles of producer, director, writer, cinematographer, and editor. Broadcasters will also identify programs that have women occupying the roles of first and second lead performers.

English and French below indicate the language of the related services or groups. The reports are published in the language and format in which they were received.
