The CRTC is strengthening its commitment to official languages and wants to ensure that it holds consultations that are meaningful, efficient, transparent, and fair for everyone, including the official language minority communities (OLMCs) and French-speakers who represent a national minority in Canada. We are seeking your comments on how we can better consult and engage with OLMCs, French-language speakers and other stakeholders about broadcasting matters. Share your views on the proposed guidelines.
How to participate
There are a few ways you can participate. Please note that we will make all comments public. The deadline to participate is October 9, 2024 at 8 pm (EDT) and the deadline for Canadians who are members of OLMCs to participate is November 8, 2024 at 8 pm (EDT).

Key topics for discussion
To strengthen the consultation practices for engagement with OLMCs and other stakeholders on broadcasting matters, the CRTC is proposing guidelines.
We invite you to provide your comments on:
- How the CRTC can strengthen its consultations and engagement with OLMCs about broadcasting matters, in light of the new requirements of the Broadcasting Act and Official Languages Act.
- Whether the topics, definitions and consultation practices proposed in the draft guidelines are appropriate to achieve that goal.
- How the CRTC can collect feedback, during and after broadcasting public proceedings.
