Description: The Canadian Cable Systems Alliance (CCSA) is in receipt of a copy of an application filed by a number of Public Safety Answering Points or 9-1-1 system administrators (collectively, PSAPs), pursuant to Part VII of the CRTC Telecommunications Rules of Procedure, dated August 17, 2006 (the Application). In the Application, the PSAPs requested that the Commission require all VoIP service providers to use only VoIP 9-1-1 call routing arrangements that were developed in the CISC Emergency Services Working Group (ESWG) and set out in the ILEC tariffs approved by the Commission. The PSAPs further requested in the Application that the requirement be included as a condition of the supply by LECs of telecommunications services to VoIP service providers.
