ethnic programming
- Definition
- Programming, including cross-cultural programming, that is specifically directed to any culturally or racially distinct group other than one that is Aboriginal Canadian or from France or the British Isles. Ethnic programming may be in English, French, a third language or a combination of languages. Where television programming includes subtitles, the audio portion of the program determines the language. For radio, the spoken word component of the program determines the ethnic group being served. (Source: Public Notice 1999-117)
