Consultation about a temporary fund to support local news production by commercial radio stations
Current status: Decision issued
The CRTC has approved a temporary fund that will support local news by commercial radio stations outside of Montréal, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa-Gatineau. The CRTC recognizes the important role local radio stations play in keeping Canadians informed. In many small communities, these stations are the only source of local news.
