The Commission will hold a public hearing commencing on 20 July 1998, at the Conference Centre, Portage IV, 140 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec, to consider the following:

Application (199802161) by the TVA GROUP INC. to amend the broadcasting licence of the French-language television network TVA in order to acquire a national network status.

The applicant also requests that its programming service be distributed on a mandatory basis as part of the basic service by Class 1 and 2 licensees pursuant to subsection 17(5) of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations, by DTH distribution undertakings, and also possibly by Class 3 licensees whose licensed area is at least 5% francophone.
