Decision CRTC 98-19

ExpressVu Inc.

Across Canada - 199710265

Addition of KIRO-TV (IND)

1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-141 dated 2 December 1997, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on a national direct-to-home (DTH) satellite distribution undertaking, by adding KIRO-TV (IND) Seattle, Washington to the list of signals that ExpressVu Inc. is authorized to distribute.

2. As part of its application, ExpressVu Inc. requested that KIRO-TV be added to the List of DTH Eligible Satellite Services (the DTH list).

3. In Public Notice CRTC 1997-96 dated 22 July 1997, the Commission announced the addition of KIRO-TV to the list of signals that Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. (Cancom) is authorized to distribute. That signal was also added to the Part 2 list (Section B) and to the Part 3 lists noting that it had approved the addition of independent U.S. services only to Section B of the list. ExpressVu Inc. has now requested the addition of KIRO-TV to both the list of signals that it is authorized to distribute and to the DTH list.

4. In Public Notice CRTC 1998-7 of today's date entitled Revised Lists of Eligible Satellite Services, the Commission has amended the lists to reflect the approval granted herein.

5. The Commission notes that there were no interventions submitted with respect to this application.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.
