Further to its Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 1997-2 dated 7 February 1997 relating to its public hearing commencing on 14 April 1997, at the Holiday Inn on King, 370 King Street West, Toronto, Ontario, the Commission announces the following:

B) Applications (199700670, 199700620,
199700646, 199700836, 199700844, 199700654) by SOUTH WEST ONTARIO TELEVISION INC., 9 Channel Nine Court, Scarborough, Ontario, M1S 4B5, |
|
-to amend its (television) programming undertaking licence for CFPL-TV London, Ontario by adding a condition of licence to operate the undertaking as an affiliate of the CTV Television Network Ltd. The current commitment of an average of at least 17 hours of first-play local news programming each week would be reduced to 14 hours 30 minutes.

|
- to amend its (television) programming undertaking licence for CKNX-TV Wingham by adding a transmitter at Wiarton using the currently-approved facilities of CKCO-TV-2 Wiarton. The current commitment of an average of at least 5 hours and 40 minutes of first-play local news programming each week would be altered to 14 hours 30 minutes consisting of a packages of international, national and regional news produced at CFPL-TV London and inserts devoted to news from Wingham, Wiarton, Owen Sound, and area. A condition of licence would also be added to operate CKNX-TV as an affiliate of the CTV Television Network.

- to amend its (television) programming undertaking licence for CHWI-TV Wheatley by adding a condition of licence to operate the undertaking as an affiliate of the CTV Television Network Ltd. The current commitment of an average of at least 10 hours of first-play local news programming each week would be altered to 14 hours 30 minutes consisting of packages of international, national and regional news produced at CFPL-TV London and inserts devoted to news from the Windsor area.

-to amend its (television) programming undertaking licence for CKCO-TV Kitchener, Ontario by adding a transmitter at Oil Springs, Ontario using the currently approved facilities of CKCO-TV-3 Oil Springs. All local productions, including the licensee's current commitment to a minimum of 4 hours 38 minutes of first-play local news programming each week would be deleted and would result in Oil Springs becoming a full transmitter of CKCO-TV Kitchener.

The applicant has advised that should the Commission approve the above, it will surrender the current licences for CKCO-TV-3 Oil Springs, and CKCO-TV-2 Wiarton, Ontario.

C) Application (199700638) by BBS ONTARIO INCORPORATED, 9 Channel Nine Court, Scarborough, Ontario, M1S 4B5, to amend its (television) programming undertaking licence for CKNY-TV North Bay, Ontario by adding a transmitter at Huntsville, Ontario using the currently approved facilities of CKCO-TV-4 Huntsville.
