Description: The Ontario 9-1-1 Advisory Board (OAB), the Alberta E9-1-1 Advisory Association and the Association of 911 Service Providers of BC are in receipt of a “request for clarification” from TELUS Communications Company (TELUS), issued 2 March 2011, regarding a direction issued by the Commission in Telecom Decision CRTC 2010-387 and confirmed by the Commission following a review and variance proceeding which culminated in Decision 2011-72.

Description: Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership (Bell Aliant) and Bell Canada (collectively, the Companies) are in receipt of a request by TELUS, dated 2 March 2011, requesting that the issues pertaining to Decision 2011-72 be examined by the CISC ESWG.  In the alternative, TELUS requests that a period of at least nine months would be necessary to scope out the requirements and build the solution proposed by the Commission. Description: TELUS has reviewed the requirements as stated by the Commission in Decision 2011-72 issued on February 8, 2011. In Decision 2011-72, the Commission required the implementation of the directives from Viability of proposals for the provision of E9-1-1 service for nomadic and fixed/non-native VoIP subscribers, Telecom Decision CRTC 2010-387 (“Decision 2010-387”) within 30 days of the issuance of Decision 2011-72.1 This 30-day period is set to expire on March 10, 2011.
