A report prepared for the Committee of Inquiry into the National Broadcasting Service, to study whether the English and French television networks of the CBC are fulfilling the mandate of the Corporation. Canadians' perceptions of the situation are described, as well as their habits and behaviour in regard to all media. Comparisons are made between the four major information media, and between the four Canadian television networks. Impartiality and objectivity of information, programming balance, Canadian and American content, freedom of expression and contribution to the development of Canadian unity are discussed.--p. 24 Bibliography of CRTC studies.
