Notes
An account of a meeting between employees of CRTC and George Davies, radio consultant. The conversation starts with a talk on "so-called hit theory as it applies to Canada". Most of the talk concerns the "top forty", and there is a full description of how it works, and how a "hit" comes about. The question of scope for introducing any other kind of music is discussed as well as some specific examples of stations and their programming. Other topics are hot line show, the format of programs, the audience, multilingual broadcasting.--p. 58 Bibliography of CRTC studies
