Opening of Hearing at 11:04 a.m.
Chairperson: Order please.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this hearing of the Commission. My name is Christianne Laizner, Vice-Chairperson for Telecommunications and I will chair this hearing. With me on the panel are my colleagues, Joanne T. Levy, Commissioner for Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and Nirmala Naidoo, Commissioner for Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Lynda Roy will be the Hearing Secretary and Salahuddin Rafiquddin will be our Legal Counsel. Madam Secretary, what are the items on the agenda for today?
Secretary: Thank you Madam Chair.
On 13 August 2020, the Commission published Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2020-262. The applications referenced in this notice are being considered today without the appearance of the parties.
Le Conseil a reçu des interventions pour quelques-unes des demandes et elles sont disponibles au dossier public de cette audience.
For the record, concerning Item 4, the application by Radius Holdings Ltd. to acquire the assets of CKOO-FM from Avenue Radio Ltd., in light of the interventions, certain correspondence received at the Commission, sent by Avenue Radio Ltd. and Grant Thornton Ltd, in its capacity as trustee of Avenue Radio Ltd has been added to the record of this application. The correspondence was reviewed, received pardon me, prior to the Notice of Consultation being issued, and provides useful context to understand the existing record of this application.
