Providing Content in Canada's Official Languages

Please note that the Official Languages Act requires that government publications be available in both official languages.

In order to meet some of the requirements under this Act, the Commission's transcripts will therefore be bilingual as to their covers, the listing of CRTC members and staff attending the hearings, and the table of contents.

However, the aforementioned publication is the recorded verbatim transcript and, as such, is transcribed in either of the official languages, depending on the language spoken by the participant at the hearing.

Chairperson: Order please.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this electronic hearing of the Commission. My name is Monique Lafontaine, Commissioner for Ontario and I will chair this hearing. With me on the panel are my colleagues, Joanne T. Levy, Commissioner for Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and Claire Anderson, Commissioner for British Columbia and Yukon. Jade Roy will be the Hearing Secretary and Moïra Letourneau will be our Legal Counsel.
Madam Secretary, what are the items on the Agenda?

Secretary: Thank you

On 10 February 2020, the Commission published Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2020-54. The Commission also published 2020-54-1 on 3 April 2020 and 2020-54-2 on 7 April 2020. The applications referenced in these notices are being considered today without the appearance of the parties.

The Commission has received interventions for some of the applications and they have been placed on the public record for this hearing.

Thank you Madam Chairperson.

Chairperson: Thank you. Are there any questions from the panel members?

Joanne T. Levy: No questions

Claire Anderson: No questions

Chairperson: Thank you. I should emphasize that the matters that form part of the Agenda will be given full consideration by the hearing panel and decisions will be released in due course following consultation with the full Commission. This therefore concludes today's hearing. I wish to thank my colleagues, Legal Counsels and the Hearing Secretary. The hearing is now adjourned.

Secretary: Thank you Madam Chairperson.

The hearing adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
