Share your thoughts on making shopping for Internet easier
Current status: Open
Start date: December 4, 2024
End date: February 20, 2025
We want your views on whether Internet service providers should be required to display information in a standardized label, similar to nutrition labels on food products. However, instead of serving sizes and calories, these labels would include information about price and speed to help Canadians easily compare plans.
How to participate
There are a few ways you can participate. Please note that we will make all comments public. The deadline to participate is February 20, 2025, at 8 p.m. (EST).
We will accept videos in ASL and LSQ for this consultation.
You must provide a working link to your video in the comments box in the “Submit an intervention” section of the Intervention form. These videos must be publicly accessible and a link that requires someone to request access to the video would not meet this standard.
Submit a formal comment online
Use the intervention form.
We also accept comments in ASL and LSQ. You must submit a link to your video using our form.
You will have to agree to our privacy statement first.

We are looking to hear from anyone with an interest in making shopping for Internet easier.
Key topics for discussion
The CRTC is seeking comments on:
- a standard format to present information, for example, a standard label similar to the nutrition labels on food products;
- the information that Canadians need when choosing plans;
- the need to explain technical information; and
- the role of the Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services (CCTS) in administering any new rules
