Telecom Notice of Consultation 2023-39
In Telecom Notice of Consultation 2023-39, the Commission invited comments on whether it should mandate major service outage notification and post-outage reporting. It also called for comments on the appropriate definition of a major service outage, which government authorities should be notified, the details that should be included in a post-outage report, and the appropriate timeframes for outage notification and reporting.
In response to the Notice, the Commission received more than 100 interventions from telecommunications service providers, provincial, territorial, and local government authorities, industry associations, consumer groups, and individuals.
