Share your thoughts about Google’s exemption application under the Online News Act

We want to hear from you on the request by Google to be exempted from the bargaining provisions of the Online News Act. The application for exemption follows an agreement reached by Google and the Canadian Journalism Collective and would provide $100M in funding annually to the Canadian news sector, administered by the Collective. Share your thoughts about the agreement and on whether the CRTC should grant the exemption.

There are a few ways you can participate. Please note that we will make all comments public. The deadline to participate is July 29, 2024 at 8 pm (EDT).

- whether Google’s application, based on its agreement with the Canadian Journalism Collective, meets the exemption requirements
