Consultation about removing barriers to switching plans
Current status: Decision issued
The CRTC’s decision removes extra fees that make it harder for Canadians to activate, change, or cancel their Internet or cellphone plans. Recent changes to the Telecommunications Act made by Parliament prohibit these kinds of fees, and the CRTC is clarifying which fees fall under this rule as part of its work to strengthen consumer protections.
