Broadband Fund – Missing Link Internet Inc. transport fibre project in Alhambra, Alberta – Request for extension

In Telecom Decision 2025-147, the Commission awarded up to $363,296 to Missing Link Internet Inc. (Missing Link) to build eight kilometres of fibre infrastructure in Alhambra, Alberta.

On 9 October 2025, Missing Link submitted an application in which it requested an extension to 28 February 2026 to submit its completed statement of work (SOW) package to the Commission.
In its application, Missing Link provided evidence that it had engaged with communities in the area of its project, including Clearwater County, representing the affected community of Alhambra. Missing Link requested the extension on the basis that it needs more time to continue its engagement with Clearwater County.

As noted in Telecom Notice of Consultation 2022-325, the Commission encourages applicants to work collaboratively with affected communities to identify potential community benefits that go beyond the provision of broadband Internet access services.
The Commission considers that the approach to engagement undertaken by Missing Link will help the company maintain its relationship with Clearwater County. Such relationships are critical to the project’s success.

In light of the above, the Commission approves Missing Link’s request for an extension to submit its completed SOW package.
The revised deadline to submit the completed SOW package is 28 February 2026.
