Subject: Request for Information regarding privacy and data sovereignty considerations within the context of implementation of Emergency Location Service and Hybridized Emergency Location - Extension Request by Apple

Dear recipients,

We are following-up on a request from Apple Inc. (Apple), dated 6 June 2024, for an extension to the deadline by which it is to respond to Commission staff’s above-noted request for information (RFI).

This RFI was issued on 29 May 2024, with a response deadline of 10 June 2024, to all parties in the distribution list.

In your letter, you indicated that many of the technical resources that need to be leveraged by Apple to finalize its responses to the RFI are currently preparing for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2024, that begins on Monday, June 10, 2024. Accordingly, you requested a short extension until 14 June 2024 for Apple to file its response.

Commission staff believes this request from Apple to be reasonable and that it would be beneficial to extend this short extension to all RFI recipients.

As such, Commission staff extends the deadline by which all parties in the distribution list are to file their responses to the above-noted RFI to 14 June 2024.
