Subject: TIF 110 – Status Update and Report Target Date

Dear Kelly T. Walsh:

By letter dated 18 April 2022, the Canadian Numbering Administrator (CNA) advised that the Canadian Steering Committee on Numbering (CSCN) is currently drafting its report in response to my 9 January 2022 request to the CSCN aimed at identifying solutions to resolve the issue of numbering exhaust in Canada.

The CSCN noted that it will be able to produce a more comprehensive report if the committee works beyond the initial due date of 18 May 2022. The CSCN indicated that it intends to complete a final consensus report by 30 June 2022.

Commission staff notes that numbering exhaust is an important issue that concerns the entire telecommunications industry. As such, we agree that the proposed extension of time should provide the CSCN participants with the time needed to conduct a

comprehensive assessment of this issue and propose effective solutions.

Thus staff agrees that the CSCN may submit its final report by no later than 30 June 2022.

Sincerely,
