Re: Application by Canal Évasion inc. (2017-0441-1) – Request for additional information with regard to a Part 1 process
Dear Mr. Bernatchez,
This is further to your licence amendment application released on 2 June 2017, in order to reduce Évasion’s Canadian programming expenditure (CPE) level from 46% to 32% for the period of 1st September 2017 to 31 August 2018.
In order to continue processing this application, please submit the following:
- In Broadcasting Policy 2015-86, the Commission set out that protections for Category A services, among which their distribution rights, would be eliminated at these services’ licence renewal, in order to allow all discretionary services (Category A and B) to compete on an equal footing.
In the event the Commission approves your request, please discuss the possibility that Évasion (presently a Category A service) become a Category B service until the next licence renewal.
A copy of this letter and your answer to the question above will be added to the record of this proceeding and made available for public examination.
The information requested herein should be received at the Commission by no later than 15 June 2017.
Deadline to submit interventions
The Commission staff hereby announces that the deadline to submit interventions with regard to this application is extended to 11 July 2017
We also ask that you repeat the question in your reply.
The Commission requires that your response and/or other documents be submitted electronically by using the secured service “My CRTC Account” (Partner Log In or GCKey) and filling in the “Broadcasting Cover page” or the “Broadcasting Online Form and Cover Page” located on this web page.
