Re: Application by Star Choice Television Network Incorporated – request for additional information with regard to the Part 1 process

Dear Sir,

This is regarding a request by Star Choice Television Network Incorporated (Shaw Direct), for a condition of licence to grant it an exception to section 45.1 of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations (the Regulations).

  1. In your responses dated 15 February 2016, you agreed to a modified condition of licence requiring Shaw Direct to offer by 1 December 2016, the following:
    • three basic services for the province of Ontario: Southern Ontario, Eastern Ontario and North/Central Ontario; and
    • two basic services for the province of Quebec: Western Quebec and Eastern Quebec.

Please define the areas (e.g., cities, geographical coordinates, localities) that will be served by each of the above-mentioned basic services.

A copy of this letter and your answers to the questions above will be added to the record of this proceeding and made available for public examination.

The information requested herein should be received at the Commission by no later than 24 February 2016.

We also ask that you repeat each question in your reply.

The Commission requires that your response and/or other documents be submitted electronically by using the secured service “My CRTC Account” (Partner Log In or GCKey) and filling in the “Broadcasting Cover page” or the “Broadcasting Online Form and Cover Page” located on this web page.
