- At the public hearing that began on 28 November 2016, the Commission considered applications for the renewal of television licences held by large English-language ownership groups, and the related interventions. The Commission announced at the hearing that the deadline for parties to submit information in response to undertakings is 9 December 2016.
- In Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2016-225, the Commission indicated that it was possible that a written reply period would take place after the appearing phase of the public hearing. The Commission announces that it will accept final written submissions from interveners in relation to the applications for the renewal of the licences held by English-language ownership groups, provided that they send a copy to the applicants and submit their comments on or before 16 December 2016. The applicants may file a final reply, with a copy sent to the relevant interveners, by 6 January 2017.
- Final written submissions and replies should not exceed 10 pages. The Commission reminds parties that they cannot submit new evidence in their final submissions and replies with the exception of any information requested by the Commission.
