RE: Interrogatories relating to the revenues and costs associated with local and community programming.

Mr./Ms.,

As a part of the Commission’s Let’s Talk TV process, (broadcaster) was asked to provide information on revenue and expenses related to local programming for certain broadcast years including the 2012-2013 broadcast year.  As a part of the current review of Local and Community programming, the Commission again asked for this data, this time for the 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and partial 2014-2015 broadcast years.

Our records show that (broadcaster) reported (significantly) different data for the 2012-2013 broadcast year for each process. As required, please resubmit the data for the 2012-2013 in the tables provided in Appendix A to this letter.

In light of your response above, please confirm the correct amounts per station and provide an explanation for the variations, as well as a detailed listing of all supporting assumptions and calculations.

Your response will be placed on the public record of Notice of Consultation CRTC 2015-421. As such, please provide confidential and abridged versions as required for the purpose of publication on the Commission’s website as a part of the current Local review. Please note that aggregate data may also be placed on the public record of the above noted proceeding.

For the purpose of the appended inquiries, local programming is defined as programming produced by local stations with local personnel or programming produced by locally-based independent producers that reflects the particular needs and interests of the market’s residents.Footnote 1

Please provide your response no later than 2 Oct 2015 by using the secured service “My CRTC Account” (Partner Log In or GCKey). Please provide responses using Excel spreadsheets not PDF, We also ask that you repeat each question in your reply.
