Dear Mr. Campbell,

This is in response to a letter dated 19 February 2015, in which Aboriginal Voices Radio Inc. (AVR) requests an extension of time until 6 March 2015 to respond to a request for information sent by Commission staff in a letter dated 6 February 2015. You state that AVR has recently received sufficient revenues to retain the services of a lawyer to assist in its responses and that, as a result, AVR requires additional time to reply to the request for information.

Commission staff reminds AVR of its obligations under section 9(4) of the Radio Regulations, 1986 (the Regulations), which requires licensees to respond to requests for information relating to adherence to their regulatory requirements.  However, in the circumstances, Commission staff considers that it would be appropriate to grant the requested extension. AVR’s response to the request for information is to be filed by no later than 6 March 2015.

Commission staff notes that failure to respond to the letter within the stated deadline would result in a situation of apparent non-compliance with section 9(4) of the Regulations.
