CISC Business Process Working Group - Consensus report BPRE094a regarding changes to the Network Management Guidelines

  1. On 28 August 2015, the Business Process Working Group (BPWG) of the CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee (CISC) submitted the following consensus report (the Report) for Commission approval:
    • Network Management Guidelines Version 3.3, 20 August 2015 (the Guidelines) [BPRE094a]
  2. In the Report, the BPWG proposed revisions to the current GuidelinesFootnote 1 in order to improve their clarity and ensure that they are consistent with current industry practices. The proposed revisions included updated references, company names, and Uniform Resource Locators (URLs), and references to technologies such as voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
  3. The Report can be found in the “Reports” section of the BPWG page, which is available in the CISC section of the Commission’s website at www.crtc.gc.ca.
  4. The Commission has reviewed and approves the Report and all recommended changes to the Guidelines.

The Guidelines are used by the network management and operations personnel of interconnecting carriers to assist in traffic management and the management of network events. Interconnecting carriers may be incumbent local exchange carriers, competitive local exchange carriers, wireless service providers, and interexchange carriers.
