Re: Follow-up to Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2013-160 - Extension to file Direct Connection (DC) rates supported by a cost study

Dear Madams, Sirs:

By way of a letter, dated 2 August 2013, the Commission granted Small Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (“SILECs”) listed in the Appendix to this letter an extension until 8 November 2013 for filing company-specific Phase II cost studies for DC toll interconnection rates (cost studies).

On 28 October 2013, on the behalf of each of the SILECs the Canadian Independent Telephone Company Joint Task Force (JTF) requested the Commission for an additional 30 day extension to the current deadline for filing company-specific cost studies.

On 6 November 2013, JTF further requested the Commission to suspend the process for consideration of the SILECs’ company-specific cost studies, until such time as the Commission has issued its determinations on the Execulink application Tariff Notice (TN) 72. JTF submitted that the requested suspension will contribute to a more efficient and effective review of the referenced cost studies by the Commission and interested parties as company specific cost studies will be normalised to a common standard.

In the circumstance, the suspension [1] of the filing of SILEC’s company-specific cost studies for DC toll interconnection rates is appropriate. Accordingly, the SILEC’s cost studies are to be filed within 30 days following the Commission determinations on Execulink TN 72 application.

Sincerely yours,
