Renaming of HDNet as ASX TV on the list of non-Canadian programming services authorized for distribution
1. In Addition of HDNet to the lists of eligible satellite services for distribution on a digital basis, Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2006-75, 15 June 2006, the Commission added HDNet, a non-Canadian service offering high definition programming 24 hours per day, seven days per week, using 1080i format, to the list of non-Canadian programming services authorized for distribution (the list).1
2. In a letter to the Commission dated 8 June 2012, HDNet indicated that commencing on 2 July 2012, the service would change its name to ASX TV. In that letter, HDNet also indicated that the nature of the service would remain as described in the original request to add the service to the list.
3. Based on the assurance provided by HDNet that its nature of service would not change, the Commission amends the list to reflect the name change from HDNet to ASX TV. The revised list is available on the Commission’s website at www.crtc.gc.ca under “Broadcasting Sector.”
