Various transitional digital radio undertakings
Various locations

Administrative renewals

  1. The Commission renews the broadcasting licences for the digital radio programming undertakings listed in the appendix to this decision from 1 May 2012 to 31 August 2012 subject to the terms and conditions of licence in effect under the current licences.
  2. The Commission notes that the broadcasting licences of transitional digital radio undertakings are only valid if the Department of Industry (the Department) indicates that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate has been or will be issued. It appears that the current licences are not associated with valid broadcasting certificates and that the Department does not intend to issue any new certificates for this type of undertaking.
  3. The Commission does not intend to renew licences beyond 31 August 2012 unless licensees meet the criteria set out in section 22 of the Broadcasting Act. The present administrative renewal will therefore permit the Commission to contact the undertakings listed in the appendix to this decision to seek their comments as to why the Commission should consider any further renewals of these licences.
