Dear Mr. Yeulett:
In a letter dated 9 December 2010, Northwestel indicated that it expected its IP Relay service to be functional on or before 1 March 2011.
In a letter dated 22 December 2010, Commission staff responded that it considered Northwestel’s proposed extension to the deadline for the launch of IP Relay service to be appropriate. Commission staff also noted that reporting requirements set out in a 25 June 2010 Commission letter remained in effect and reiterated that the Commission requires
- all incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) who filed proposed tariffs for their IP Relay service, to file proposed tariff amendments reflecting the revised effective date of the service no later than 30 days before the proposed effective date; and
- all large and small ILECs who have not yet filed tariffs for IP Relay service, to file proposed tariffs no later than 30 days before the proposed effective date of the service.
The Commission has not yet received a tariff filing for IP Relay service from Northwestel. If the company’s plans to launch IP Relay service by 1 March 2011 have not changed, please submit the proposed tariff before the end of February 2011. If you anticipate that Northwestel will not be able to meet the 1 March launch date, please advise us in writing when the company will be able to provide this service.
Sincerely,
‘Original signed by S. Bédard’
