Renaming of CBS College Sports Network as CBS Sports Network on the lists of eligible satellite services
1. In Broadcasting Public Notice 2007-120, the Commission added College Sports Television (CSTV), a U.S. network devoted exclusively to broadcasting college sports programming, to the lists of eligible satellite services for distribution on a digital basis (the digital lists).
2. In Broadcasting Public Notice 2008-51, the Commission amended the digital lists in order to reflect the change of name of College Sports Television (CSTV) to CBS College Sports Network. This decision was based on the assurance provided by CSTV Networks Inc. that the network’s nature of service had not changed.
3. In a letter to the Commission dated 28 February 2011, CBS College Sports Network indicated that, commencing on or about 4 April 2011, the service would change its name to CBS Sports Network. In that letter, CBS College Sports Network also indicated that the nature of the service would remain as described in the original request to add the service to the digital lists.
4. Based on the assurance provided by CBS College Sports Network that its nature of service would not change, the Commission amends the digital lists to reflect the name change from CBS College Sports Network to CBS Sports Network. The revised digital lists are available on the Commission’s website at www.crtc.gc.ca under “Broadcasting Sector.”
