Re: Application to Review and Vary Telecom Decision CRTC 2010-255, Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership and Bell Canada, and Télébec, Limited Partnership – Applications to introduce usage-based billing and other changes to Gateway Access Services

In a letter dated 28 May 2010, Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership and Bell Canada (collectively, the Companies) filed a Part VII application seeking the review and variance of certain aspects of Telecom Decision CRTC 2010-255.

Attached to this letter is an interrogatory pertaining to the Companies’ cost estimates provided in the proceeding leading to that decision.  A response to this interrogatory is to be filed with the Commission, serving copies on the parties to this distribution list, by 18 June 2010.

Interrogatory to the Companies

1. Refer to Table 2 ‘Revenues and Costs per Access per Month’ of the Companies’ economic evaluation report for Gateway Access Service dated 16 July 2009.

a) For each of Residence-Lite, Residence-Lite Plus and Residence Basic, provide the revised Phase II costs per access assuming the following change in assumption: the company’s assumed ATM switching cost solution is replaced by an Ethernet switching cost solution. The revised costs should include the costs to migrate ATM traffic to Ethernet.

b) Provide a revised response to The Companies(CRTC)20Aug09-7 TN 242 & 7181 that reflects the changes in assumptions made in the response to part (a) above.
