Re: Reminder of updates to Competitive Local Exchange Carrier Tariff
On 16 March 2010, the Commission issued a letter requiring competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) to update their Access Services Tariff by 12 April 2010. Commission staff notes that certain CLECs have not yet filed the required updates to their Access Services Tariff and reminds these CLECs that the filing of these updates is mandatory for all CLECs.
Commission staff also notes that in view of the amalgamation of TELUS Communications Company’s tariffs related to the interconnection by wireless service providers (WSPs), CLECs providing interconnection services to WSPs in Alberta and British Columbia must file updates to their Access Services Tariff to reflect the cross-references to the rates applicable to these services before 26 April 2010 to ensure their compliance with the Commission’s determinations set out in Telecom Decision 97-8 and in Telecom Order 2010-144.
In addition, Commission staff notes that several CLECs that filed tariff revisions pursuant to our letter dated 16 March 2010 have omitted to file the revision associated with Item 403.4.1 of the CLEC Model Tariff, Interconnection with WSPs - Link charge. CLECs are reminded that in Telecom Order 2010-144, the Commission determined that the CLEC Model Tariff should only have specified the references to the appropriate WSP link charges in each ILEC’s tariff. Consequently, on page 56 of the CLEC Model Tariff, the two sentences below the heading “Link Charges” and the words “per DS-1” in the heading of the table have been removed to reflect the Commission’s determination in this regard.
To assist CLECs with their required filings, it is noted that the changes described our letter of 16 March 2010 can be found on the CRTC website as part of the CLEC Model Tariff version 32 at http://www.crtc.gc.ca/cisc/eng/cisf3g5.htm.
