Application No. 2007-1608-7 |
Application by L.A. Radio Group Inc. relating to the licence of the English-language commercial radio programming undertaking CJUV-FM in Lacombe. |
The licensee proposes to change the authorized contours by increasing the average effective radiated power from 9,500 to 27,000 watts, by increasing the effective antenna height, and by relocating the transmitter site (maximum effective radiated power from 16,000 to 55,000 watts/effective antenna height of 161 metres). |

The Commission notes that the licensee proposes to relocate its transmitter to Red Deer to co-site on the CBC's tower facilities which will result in the station's contours encompassing Red Deer in its principal marketing area. |
The licensee has stated that the proposed changes will result in a better quality signal to listeners of the north and west regions which form part of the station's principal marketing area, who are currently experiencing poor reception of CJUV-FM. |
The licensee will continue to abide by the condition of license by which it shall refrain from soliciting local advertising in Red Deer. |
