Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2007-362

  Ottawa, 3 October 2007
  Miramichi Fellowship Center, Inc.
Blackville, Nova Scotia
  Application 2007-1036-0, received 17 July 2007
Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2007-93
8 August 2007

CJFY-FM Blackville - Technical change

1. The Commission approves the application by Miramichi Fellowship Center, Inc. to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CJFY-FM Blackville, in order to change the frequency from 107.5 MHz (channel 298LP) to 107.7 MHz (channel 299LP).
2. The licensee indicated that the proposed change would alleviate interference problems caused by Radio Beauséjour inc.'s transmitter CJSE-FM-2 Baie Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick, which operates on frequency 107.5 MHz.
3. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
4. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry (the Department) notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
5. Given that the technical parameters approved in this decision are for a low-power unprotected FM service, the Commission also reminds the licensee that it will have to select another frequency if the Department so requires.
