  The licensee proposes to replace the condition of licence relating to the use of local availabilities, which reads:
 

The licensee may, at its option, insert certain promotional material as a substitute for the "local availabilities" (i.e., non-Canadian advertising material) of non-Canadian satellite services. At least 75% of these local availabilities must be made available for use by licensed Canadian programming services for the promotion of their respective services, for the promotion of the community channel and for unpaid Canadian public service announcements. A maximum of 25% of the local availabilities may be made available for the promotion of discretionary programming services and packages, customer service information, channel realignments, cable FM service and additional cable outlets.

  Application by CHUM Limited (CHUM) for the use of frequency 101.5 MHz (channel 268C1) with an average effective radiated power of 48,000 watts (maximum effective radiated power of 100,000 watts/antenna height of 160 metres) for the operation of the new English-language FM radio programming undertaking approved in Hot Adult Contemporary FM radio station in Calgary Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2006-324, 2 August 2006 (Decision 2006-324).
  The present application is filed in response to Decision 2006-324 in which the Commission stated that it would only issue a licence to CHUM if it submitted an application proposing the use of another FM frequency and technical parameters that are acceptable to both the Commission and the Department of Industry.
  The Commission notes that CKUA Radio Foundation has filed an application (2006-1419-0) to amend the broadcasting licence of CKUA-FM Edmonton, Alberta by changing the frequency of its transmitter CKUA-FM-6 Red Deer, Alberta from 101.3 MHz (channel 267C) to 107.7 MHz (channel 299C1) in order that CHUM may have use of the frequency 101.5 MHz (channel 268C1).

  Application by CKUA Radio Foundation (CKUA) to amend the licence of the radio programming undertaking CKUA-FM Edmonton, Alberta.
  The licensee proposes to amend the licence of CKUA-FM Edmonton by changing the frequency of its transmitter CKUA-FM-6 Red Deer from 101.3 MHz (channel 267C) to 107.7 MHz (channel 299C1).
  In Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2006-324, 2 August 2006, the Commission approved, in part, an application by CHUM Limited (CHUM) for a broadcasting licence to operate a new FM radio programming undertaking in Calgary, Alberta. However, CHUM was to file an application proposing the use of an alternate frequency and technical parameters. CHUM has filed application 2006-1393-6 to meet the above-noted requirements. This application is also announced in this public notice.
  CKUA's application was filed in order that CHUM may have use of the frequency 101.5 MHz (channel 268C1) for its new station in Calgary.
