Telecom Order CRTC 2005-44

  Ottawa, 3 February 2005

Dryden Municipal Telephone System

  Reference: Tariff Notice 27

9-1-1 Public emergency reporting service

1.

The Commission received an application by Dryden Municipal Telephone System (Dryden MTS), dated 17 December 2004, to revise item 7, 9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service, under section 100 of its General Tariff in order to reduce the monthly rates as follows:

  • to $0.20 per access line or Centrex working telephone number (WTN), from the previously approved rate of $0.21; and

  • to $0.10 per wireless service provider WTN, from the previously approved rate of $0.105.

2.

Dryden MTS indicated that the proposed rates were consistent with those recently approved for Bell Canada in 9-1-1 Public emergency reporting service, Telecom Order CRTC 2004-429, 17 December 2004.

3.

Dryden MTS also indicated that pursuant to 9-1-1 Public emergency reporting service, Telecom Order CRTC 2003-116, 20 March 2003, the Commission considered that as Dryden MTS' 9-1-1 service was provided on the company's behalf by Bell Canada, the associated rates should be identical to those approved for Bell Canada.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves Dryden MTS' application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this Order.

6.

Dryden MTS is to issue a revised tariff page forthwith to reflect this change.
