Via Email Re: Implementation of Emergency service obligations for local VoIP service providers , Telecom Decision, 4 April 2005 (Decision 2005-21) In paragraph 70 of Decision 2005-21, the Commission invited all local VoIP service providers unable to meet the 90 day deadline for implementation of an interim solution that complies with the Commission's directives in paragraphs 68 and 69, to apply for an extension within 30 days of the Decision. Companies that requested an extension were granted a 45 day extension to 17 August 2005 , to implement the required interim solution . In paragraph 53, 69 and 99 of Decision 2005-21, t he Commission also directed Canadian carriers, as a condition of providing telecommunications services to local VoIP service providers, to include in their service contracts or other arrangements with these service providers, the requirement that the latter abide by all directions set out in Decision 2005-21. Since the deadline to implement the emergency service obligations for local VoIP service providers has passed, Commission staff advises all Canadian carriers to ensure that they are in full compliance with all directions set out in Decision 2005-21 . Yours truly,
