  Ottawa, 10 February 2004

Northwestel Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 799

Payphone analog cellular network service

The Commission received an application by Northwestel Inc. (Northwestel), dated 23 October 2003, to introduce General Tariff item 504, Payphone Analog Cellular Network Service.

The Commission approved a market trial for this service in the oil and gas sectors of Northern British Columbia, in Telecom Order CRTC 2002-245, 28 June 2002. The proposed service would allow for the provision of outgoing message service from a wireless network and telephone equipment to the general public using standard payment options such as credit card and prepaid calling cards.

Northwestel filed an imputation test in support of its application.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission finds that the imputation test is satisfactory.

The Commission approves Northwestel's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
