  Ottawa, 22 November 2004

Northwestel Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 813

Additional individual line promotion

1.

The Commission received an application by Northwestel Inc. (Northwestel), dated 5 October 2004, to revise General Tariff item 1734, Additional Individual Line Promotion, in order to offer a promotion for an additional line between 5 November 2004 and 31 December 2004, inclusive.

2.

During the promotion, Northwestel proposes to waive the non-recurring charges associated with installation for current individual line service customers who request the installation of an additional residential or business individual line. Northwestel stated that the promotion would be subject to the following conditions: customers must reside within base rate areas where sufficient and suitable facilities exist; and the additional line provided under the promotion, as well as all other individual lines existing at the time of the request, must remain in service for a period of 90 days from the commencement of service of the additional line.

3.

The Commission notes that Northwestel has run the same promotion from 1 October 2002 to 31 December 2002, approved in Telecom Order CRTC 2002-407, 11 October 2002, and from 1 October 2003 to 31 December 2003, approved in Telecom Order CRTC 2003-411, 9 October 2003.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves Northwestel's application. Northwestel is to issue, forthwith, revised tariff pages to be effective on the date of issuance.
