Telecom Order CRTC 2002-407

Ottawa, 11 October 2002

Northwestel Inc.

Reference: Tariff Notice 778

Additional individual line promotion

The Commission received an application by Northwestel Inc. (Northwestel), dated 3 September 2002, to introduce General Tariff item 1733, Exchange Service, in order to offer a promotion for an additional individual line between 1 October 2002 and 31 December 2002.

In its application, Northwestel proposed to waive the non-recurring charges associated with installation for current individual line service customers who request the installation of an additional residential or business individual line. Northwestel stated that the promotion would be subject to the following conditions: customers must reside within base rate areas where sufficient and suitable facilities exist; and the additional line provided under the promotion, as well as other individual lines subscribed to at the time of the request, must remain in service for a period of 90 days from the commencement of service of the additional line.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves Northwestel's applications.

Northwestel is to issue, forthwith, revised tariff pages to be effective on the date of issuance.
