VF8007 Acton Vale - Technical change |
|
1. | The Commission approves the application by Fabrique de la Paroisse de Saint-André d'Acton Vale to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking VF8007 Acton Vale, in order to change the frequency from 89.7 MHz (channel 209LP) to 90.1 MHz (channel 211LP). |
2. | VF8007, which operates with an effective radiated power of 0.6 watts, is a low-power radio programming undertaking. Pursuant to the Department of Industry's (the Department's) Broadcast Procedure Rules, VF8007 is therefore authorized on an unprotected basis and must, if necessary, select another frequency to permit optimum utilization of the frequency spectrum. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has commenced operation of the transmitter of CBM-FM Montréal in Sherbrooke at 89.7 MHz (channel 209B) authorized in Licence amendment for CBM-FM, Decision CRTC 99-466, 14 October 1999. Accordingly, the applicant must operate VF8007 at another frequency. |
3. | The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application. |
4. | The Department has advised the Commission that, while this application is conditionally technically acceptable, it will only issue a broadcasting certificate when it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services. |
5. | The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued. |
6. | Given that the technical parameters approved in this decision are for a low-power unprotected FM service, the Commission also reminds the licensee that it will have to select another frequency if the Department so requires. |
