Call for comments on proposals for the addition of non-Canadian satellite services to the list of services eligible for digital distribution

 

Extension of the deadline for submission of replies

In Call for comments on proposals for the addition of non-Canadian satellite services to the list of services eligible for digital distribution, Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2003-36, 11 July 2003 (Public Notice 2003-36), the Commission called for comments on proposals to amend the list of eligible satellite services through the inclusion of additional non-Canadian programming services that would be authorized for distribution on a digital basis only, and established a two-stage process for the filing of written comments.

The Commission extends the deadline for the filing of replies to 15 September 2003. The deadline for the filing of initial comments remains 11 August 2003.

The final bullet in paragraph 2 of the English version of Public Notice 2003-36 should read:
 
  • an undertaking from the non-Canadian service provider that it does not hold, will not obtain, nor will it exercise, preferential or exclusive programming rights in relation to the distribution of programming in Canada.
