Further to its Broadcasting Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 2003-4 dated 10 April 2003 relating to a Public Hearing which will be held on 16 June 2003 at 9:30 a.m., at the Shaw Conference Centre, 9797 Jasper Avenue North West, Edmonton, Alberta, the Commission announces that it will also consider the following. The intervention deadline is 30 May 2003.

Application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to amend the licence of the television station CBXT Edmonton, Alberta.
|
|
The licensee proposes to amend its licence in order to add two transmitters in Coronation and Red Deer to broadcast the programming of CBXT Edmonton.
|
|
The Coronation transmitter will operate on channel 10 with an effective radiated power of 98,000 watts.
|
|
The Red Deer transmitter will operate on channel 10 with an effective radiated power of 180,000 watts.
|
|
This application is filed in conjunction with the applications by Global Communications Limited, items No. 2 and 3 of Broadcasting Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 2003-4, which propose, in part, the disaffiliation of CKRD-TV from the CBC and the transfer of the transmitting equipment of CKRD-TV-1 Coronation and CITV-TV-1 Red Deer to the CBC. Approval of this application will extend the full CBC English Television Network service to residents of Coronation, Red Deer and area, should item No. 3 and the appropriate portion of item No.2 be approved.
