To: The Telephone Companies, Wireless Service Providers and other Carriers File No.: 8180-2 Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC) File No.: 8180-8; Independent Carriers (Ontario &
Québec) and Non-dominant Carriers File No.: 8180-4)

This letter is further to the Commission's letter of 17 November 2003, a copy of which is available on the CRTC's website at http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2003/lt031117.htm concerning an application from the City of Calgary (Joint Applicant - Municipalities) requesting the assignment of 3-1-1 for non-emergency municipal government services in Canada.

Due to an oversight in the distribution process, a number of telecommunications service providers did not receive a copy of the letter which established dates for comment and reply comments. As a result, this letter is being distributed to a much broader list of service providers and provides for an extension for parties wishing to submit comments or supplemental comments, from the current deadline of 19 December 2003, to 12 January 2004. Parties are reminded to serve a copy of all comments on the applicant. The date for reply comments to be filed by the applicant with the Commission is also extended from the current deadline of 9 January 2004 to 30 January 2004.

Where a document is to be filed or served by a specific date, the document must be actually received, not merely sent, by that date.
