CKYL Peace River - Licence renewal and amendment

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for CKYL Peace River from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2010 subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1999-137, 24 August 1999.

2.

Further, the Commission approves the application to amend the licence for CKYL in order to delete the authority for its transmitters CJRA-FM Rainbow Lake and CKLA-FM La Crete.

3.

No intervention was filed in connection with this licence renewal application.

In accordance with Implementation of an employment equity policy, Public Notice CRTC 1992-59, 1 September 1992, the Commission encourages the licensee to consider employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources.

5.

In a related decision released today, CKHL-FM High Level - Licence renewal and amendment, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-56, 19 February 2003, the Commission approved the addition of FM transmitters of CKHL-FM High Level, Alberta at Rainbow Lake and at La Crete.
