In Regulations Amending the Radio Regulations, 1986 - Commercial Radio Programming, Public Notice 1998-132, 17 December 1998, the Commission announced that radio stations whose formats are based on the presentation of older music could apply to broadcast a lower level of Canadian popular music than the 35% level required of other commercial radio licensees. The Commission noted the relatively limited supply of Canadian music appropriate for the format of these stations. |

CORUS has applied for a condition of licence for its radio station CHQT Edmonton that would allow it to broadcast a minimum level of 30% of Canadian musical selections. The proposed condition is: |

Both transmitters would operate on frequency 106.9 MHz (channel 295A) with an effective radiated power of 930 watts at Fairview and 2,000 watts at High Prairie. |
