Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-505

  Ottawa, 20 October 2003
  Télé Inter-Rives ltée
Rivière-du-Loup and Les Escoumins, Quebec
  Application 2003-0212-5
Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2003-32
16 June 2003

CIMT-TV-7 Les Escoumins - Technical changes

1.

The Commission approves the application by Télé Inter-Rives ltée to amend the broadcasting licence of the television programming undertaking CIMT-TV Rivière-du-Loup, in order to change the channel of its transmitter CIMT-TV-7 Les Escoumins from 13 to 57. The Commission also approves that portion of the application proposing to change the authorized contours by increasing the transmitter power from 10 watts to 50 watts.

2.

The licensee stated that these changes are necessary as a result of interference caused to another transmitter of CIMT-TV operating on channel 13.

3.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

4.

The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry (the Department) notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.

5.

Given that the technical parameters approved in this decision are for a low-power unprotected television service, the Commission also reminds the licensee that it will have to select another channel if the Department so requires.
