The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with these applications.
4.
The Commission notes that the above-noted transmitters are currently operated by the CBC as radiocommunication distribution undertakings (RDUs), which rebroadcast the programming of the CBC Northern Television Service.
5.
The CBC has advised that improvements in satellite feed technology now enable it to provide viewers in Lake Louise with the full programming schedule of CBRT Calgary and viewers in Fort Chipewyan with the full programming schedule of CBXT Edmonton. The CBC noted that it is therefore no longer necessary to hold separate RDU licences for these transmitters, and has asked that the licences be revoked.
6.
Accordingly, the Commission, pursuant to sections 9(1)(e) and 24 (2) of the Broadcasting Act, revokes the broadcasting licences issued to the CBC with respect to the above-noted RDUs.
