CJMC-FM Sainte-Anne-des-Monts and its transmitter at La Martre - Technical change and extension of deadline to commence operations
1.
The Commission approves the application by Radio du Golfe inc. to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CJMC-FM Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, in order to change the frequency of the transmitter at La Martre, authorized in Licence amendment for CJMC-FM Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Decision CRTC 2001-28, 25 January 2001, from 103.1 MHz (channel 276LP) to 92.7 MHz (channel 224LP), and for an extension of the time limit to commence the operation of the new transmitter.
2.
The Commission notes that this is the licensee's third request for an extension to implement its authority.
3.
The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
4.
The Department of Industry (the Department) has advised the Commission that, while this application is conditionally technically acceptable, it will only issue a broadcasting certificate when it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.
5.
The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
6.
Given that the technical parameters approved in this decision are for a low-power unprotected FM service, the Commission also reminds the licensee that it will have to select another frequency if the Department so requires.
7.
The transmitter must be operational at the earliest possible date and in any event no later than 25 July 2003, unless a request for an extension of time is approved by the Commission before this date. In order to ensure that such a request is processed in a timely manner, it should be submitted in writing at least 30 days before this date.
